Acetanilidum 3X
Introduction: This agent is employed to depress the temperature in fevers; to allay the pains in
la grippe, acute articular rheumatism, lumbago, sciatica, and nervous and neuralgic headaches.
There is no doubt but that its use is responsible for many of the case of heart failure that are so
common during recent years.
Synonym: Phenylacetamide, Antifebrin.
Source: Antifebrinum. Acetanilid (formed from aniline). CH3 CO NH C6 H5.
Indications:
Head
– Enlarged sensation.
– Fainting.
– Moral depravity.
Eyes
– Pallor of optic discs, contracted visual field and shrinking retinal vessel; mydriasis.
Heart
– Weak, irregular, with blue mucous membranes, albuminuria, oedema of feet and ankles.
Dose and administration: 1 tab 3 to 4 times daily for adult. ½ tab for 3 to 4 times daily
children.
Side effects: No significant side effect has been observed in proper dosage
Contraindication: There is no known contraindication.
Presentations: 50 tabs (20 gm in PET bottle), 450gm powder in container.
